THERE ARE LITTLE EYES UPON YOU, AND THEY’RE WATCHING NIGHT
AND DAY; THERE ARE LITTLE EARS THAT QUICKLY
TAKE IN EVERY WORD YOU SAY;
THERE ARE LITTLE HANDS ALL EAGER
TO DO ANYTHING YOU DO; AND A LITTLE BOY WHO’S DREAMING OF
THE DAY HE’LL BE LIKE YOU.
YOU’RE THE LITTLE FELLOW’S IDOL;
YOU’RE THE WISEST OF THE WISE, IN HIS LITTLE MIND ABOUT YOU,
NO SUSPICIONS EVER RISE;
HE BELIEVES IN YOU DEVOUTLY
HOLDS THAT ALL YOU SAY AND DO, HE WILL SAY AND DO, IN YOUR
WAY WHEN HE’S GROWN-UP LIKE YOU.
THERE’S A WIDE-EYED LITTLE FELLOW,
WHO BELIEVES YOU’RE ALWAYS RIGHT,
AND HIS EARS ARE ALWAYS OPEN, AND HE WATCHES DAY AND NIGHT;
YOU ARE SETTING AN EXAMPLE EVERY DAY IN ALL
YOU DO, FOR THE LITTLE BOY WHO’S WAITING TO GROW UP TO BE
LIKE YOU.

Notes
by Coach Grim
Aug 28, 2010
Just like the varsity game on
Friday night, the Terre Haute North JV team won 14-13 in
overtime on Sat, albeit a double OT.
There was excellent defense
played on both sides of the ball with no scoring in the 1st
quarter. Caleb Knox struck pay dirt first in the 2nd quarter
with a 10 yard burst up the middle. The South Braves
answered quickly and both teams missed their PAT attempts.
The 3rd quarter was uneventful.
But the 4th quarter found South moving the ball with ease.
However, the North defense bent but did not break with 2 or
3 crucial stops. The North offense was ineffective. Tyler
Lawrence recorded a sack of the THS QB on the final play of
regulation.
In the 1st overtime there was
stout defense and neither team scored. South had the first
possession in the 2nd OT and promptly scored and converted
the PAT. They led 13 to 6. North's possession was successful
when Scotty Finzel ran an option in for a TD. A similar play
was called for the PAT and the -line was awesome with Finzel
keeping for the 2 point conversion. Final score was 14-13.
TH North JV (2-0) has a bye this week and next plays
at Center Grove on Sat, Sept 11 at 10:00 AM.

Terre
Haute North Freshman V. Northview
Monday August 23rd: Score:
39-0
Terre Haute North’s Brian Moshak ran the opening kick off
back to the THN 35. THN ran two plays to take the opening
drive to midfield. On the third play of the game Chris
Barrett took an option off the left side and ran uncontested
50 yards for the touchdown. Moshak converted the extra
point, to make the score 7 – 0.
THN’S
Ronnie McConnell kicked off with a long squib kick to the
Northview 15 yard line, where Jerry Barbour knocked the ball
loose and the Patriots recovered at the 20. The drive
stalled at the 3 yard line where Northview took over the
ball. On third and long from out of their own endzone
Northview threw a pass that was picked off and returned for
a touchdown by Barbour. Moshak converted the extra point.
14-0.
Northview returned the kickoff from the Patriots to their
own 30 yard line. The Patriots defense held and forced the
Knight’s to punt. Kai Stratten returned the ball to the 35
yard line. Several plays were ran by the Patriots when
quarterback Barrett connected with Stratten for a 50 yard TD
screen pass. The extra point failed. 20-0.
Northview held the ball for several minutes, but once again
the Patriots defense stepped and stopped the Knight’s. North
had one last shot at the endzone before half. Austin Massey
took the ball on a reverse and completed a 30 plus yard pass
to Macei Tomaszewski for six points as the half ran out. The
extra point again failed. 26-0.
The
second half the Knight’s controlled the ball most of the
period, but the defense never gave in. THN took over the
ball on downs at their own 40. The offense ran several plays
tacking up the yardage. North scored once again on a sweet
35 yard option play to Ricky Brookins for the score. 32-0.
The
Knight’s ran several plays controlling the clock, but a
Knight pass over the middle was intercepted by Doug Allsup
and a 20 yard return. The final score came on a twenty yard
pass from Barrett to Stratten. 39-0.
TH
North (1-0) plays TH South this Sat at the South field at
10:00 AM.
